A boutique house with intention
The name Chickenhouse became the guiding idea.
Casa Galo, Casa Pinto and Casa Ninho take it up and give each apartment its own personality.
A simple idea
The Chickenhouse Algarve grew out of a simple idea.
When Rainer first saw the plot in Ferragudo, it quickly became clear that this place did not need a large concept. The site is small, compact and at first glance unassuming. This was precisely its strength.
From this impression emerged the idea of creating a consciously reduced house. Not a holiday complex and not an excess of offerings, but a place with a small number of apartments, a clear structure and space for calm.
The apartments
Design and furnishings are deliberately calm. Materials, colours and details integrate naturally without pushing themselves forward. Nothing is random and nothing is interchangeable.
Susy and Rainer
Rainer has been working in the construction industry for more than thirty years. He understands processes, materials and relationships and thinks about projects in the long term. He has lived in Ferragudo for more than twenty years and is firmly rooted in the village.
Susy has been living in the Algarve for more than five years. She works as a yoga teacher, singer and independent wedding celebrant and is personally and professionally connected to Ferragudo and the surrounding region.
For four years now, Susy and Rainer have been walking this path together. From this connection, the Chickenhouse Algarve emerged as a natural continuation of a shared place of life.
The yoga studio
Through Susy’s work, the wish arose for an additional space. A place for movement, presence and connection, open to residents, guests and friends.
The yoga studio is not a separate offering, but part of the house. It integrates naturally into the overall picture of the Chickenhouse and complements everyday life in Ferragudo.
Responsibility and team
Susy and Rainer personally run the Chickenhouse Algarve. Decisions are made consciously and with a long-term perspective. The house is not a product, but a project close to their hearts.
They are supported by a small team that has grown organically and helps carry the house with calmness, reliability and closeness.
Part of Ferragudo
Ferragudo is more than the location of the Chickenhouse.
It is a place that has remained.
The house understands itself as part of the village. Not as a retreat separated from everyday life, but as a quiet place within it. Guests are not meant to have Ferragudo explained to them, but to experience it.
